Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Cvrkel is a great professor! She really cares about her students, and teaches in an interesting, fun way. I was never bored during lecture and felt that the class content extended much further beyond just the class and final. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who enjoys learning about science, and thinking about the greater questions in life.

    Course highlights:

You learn great argument skills in this class that can easily be applied to any other part of your school career and even throughout life. It helps you think things over in a more logical approach, and analyze things before taking them for granted.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Never miss out on a single lecture. Read and read again her paper on how to write a good argument, this will be your life saver for the entire course. Because everything is in an argument format, knowing the basics on how to write a good argument is essential.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course intrigued me beyond any other course I've taken thus far at UCLA! Professor Cvrkel too makes the class all the worthwhile – she is witty and engaging. Her superior teaching skills allow students to easily understand the material, as well as thrive in the class.

    Course highlights:

It is a heavily science based course. Students learn about the biology, research and ethical questions regarding stem cell technology today. Though it may sound a bit intimidating, it isn't because it also taught me how to form arguments and objections in a cohesive and logical manner – a skill that all students should have.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I advise any student considering this to take it, whether you are a science major or not! It serves as an excellent introduction to the topic of stem cell therapy and other medical technologies that are just arising, all of which are relevant to any and all people!
