    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Lin is the most challenging LS 3 professor and his teaching style will require pre-med students to be mature about their study habits. This course tests your knowledge of the material, your patience, and your capacity to understand rigorous material that will be on the MCAT.

    Course highlights:

I gained more confidence in my study skills because this course was the most challenging class I have taken thus far. I learned important information about how DNA functions and the many components that our bodies use to create our genetic information.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to review the slides before class and at the end of week. There are many details that you have to know and it is best to keep the information fresh in your mind at all times. Involve yourself in a weekly study group and meet as often as possible to discuss the information aloud. Create flashcards. Quizlet is the most helpful tool to use for this.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for any students that are interested in science and medicine. Sellami, specifically, is very interactive within the class and many points depend on clicker questions and attending discussions, which improve understanding of the material.

    Course highlights:

The class teaches molecular biology. This includes how many systems in the body work.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This course requires a lot of time commitment. There are weekly assignments and readings and discussions are mandatory. I'm personally not great at memorization, so I had to spend a lot of time outside lecture and discussion to study. It helps to create your own graphs and flashcards.
