Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is interesting! The professor is not boring and sections are fun. Besides, learning about human past cultures is something we should all do in order to understand cultures today.

    Course highlights:

I learned that today is much like the past. The world and people have evolved an abundance, but culture has not. The fact that this was all learned through the analysis of material remains just blew my mind.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all the required readings and attend lecture. It is very important if you want to succeed in the class. It is never too early to start studying for midterms or finals, the earlier the more you retain.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I thought the class would be more interesting than it turned out to be. Although Monroe is very knowledgeable on the subject, he presented the material in a boring way.

    Course highlights:

Monroe is such a nice guy, but an inexperienced and uninspiring educator. I would strongly advise against taking his classes and furthermore he is not very good at communicating with students.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you get a great TA! There is a decent amount of work. Lectures are some times boring but doable. Throughout the quarter he also brought guest lecturers and showed videos that helped to break up the course. The midterm and final were challenging, but doable. The class wasn' t the best and it wasn't the worst.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Monroe seemed to be really knowledgeable about the subject but he presented it in a very boring way. Overall he was a decent teacher.

    Course highlights:

The workload in the class isn't too hard. There's a midterm, final, and several writing assignments due in section.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Never miss a lecture unless you have to. Most people don't interact with Cameron but instead with your TA. The work is pretty easy unless you've never written a scientific paper. Tests are also short.
