Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was so much fun! Dr. Washburn not only taught with passion, but he also told us stories about small-scale experiments he did in his backyard. These sort of stories made it easy for me to imagine experimenting and exploring in these ways, myself. It made me very excited about doing the work for the class because the assignments no longer seemed like words on a paper. They seemed like blueprints for a great adventure.

    Course highlights:

I gained more excitement for science than I had before, I learned a lot about how important ecology is, which lead to me deciding on my major, and I realized how important it is to know how what you're learning connects to the real world.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Focus more on listening in class than making sure you write everything out of the slides.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Jan is an incredibly passionate teacher who really cares about his students and their learning. This class kept me interested and taught me so many things I didn't have any previous knowledge of.

    Course highlights:

This instructor is retiring, and hopefully, someone equally amazing will take over. In this course you'll cover so many aspects of ecology: birth and death rates of insect and animal species, their evolutionary and environmental adaptations. You will also learn about plant species, how they interact with their environment, and how invasive species can be destructive to an eco-system.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to read the material ahead, take notes, know the keyterms, understand the graphs you are reading.
