    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Drew is engaging and thoughtful. His supplemental texts were interesting and relevant. I really enjoyed being part of the group discussions and found that I looked at current events with a more knowledgeable lens thanks to my understanding of history.

    Course highlights:

The most relevant lessons I learned were from books that offered voices of those who were on the fringe and therefore not writing the history that I have read about thus far in my education. I really was able to get a three-dimensional perspective on American society as it pertained to all citizens not just those in power at the time. This was relevant not just historically but for my view on present issues and how they can be see differently depending on one's personal experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of your research papers. They are long and demanding and Drew is very thorough in his grading.
