Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this class because you learn practical steps to writing papers and editing your peer's work.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to read the work of fellow student papers thoroughly and find mistakes that people would normally miss. I also learned how to interpret and read pieces of literature well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to other students interested in this course is to stay on top of your work. It can become overwhelming to fall behind, so make sure you are meeting deadlines and working hard with the class time given.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is an amazing course! You really learn a lot from Mr. Van Der Molen. Not only do you learn a ton about C.S. Lewis in the first semester, but you learn how to write better. I love to write, but I was still nervous about this class. I can tell you that Mr. Van Der Molen really prepares you for the class.

    Course highlights:

I really loved reading Out of the Silent Planet in class. There were mixed feelings about it, but I personally loved. It was a nice break between writing papers. You really do learn a lot about C.S. Lewis and his faith. It's amazing to look at God through his perspective.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up on reading C.S. Lewis books. (You have to write about his writings for a couple of the papers) You don't necessarily have to because you get some great sources in class, but if you decide to (most people do) you definitely need to make sure you get the books read.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a wonderful course to take in your high school career. It is a great idea to take this course as a high schooler, rather than taking it in college. Comp 1 is a good class to take when your teachers truly care about you in high school and care about helping you to further your education.

    Course highlights:

Taking this course has really helped me become the writer I knew I could be. This course challenged me to work hard and write in depth about topics I didn't even know I was interested in. I am now more confident in my writing abilities and I enjoy it more than I did before this class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class takes dedication. Do not procrastinate on writing your papers and reading the material you need to. It is far better to get the work done when given class time than to save it all for the night before. Try to put all distractions away in this class so that you are able to truly understand the material you're reading and writing about. Work hard and do not procrastinate.
