Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it really helped me learn and dive into literature with more confidence. I am now able to analyze and find deeper meaning to authors' works. This is not an easy class, you have to study rigorously and be on track of yourself, but think about the money you are saving for college!

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about English in this class. I learned about rhetorical devices and how to write proper argumentative essays. I learned about rebuttals and such. This course was great and really works in the real world when certain pieces are difficult to understand.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course you definitely need to study a lot. It takes a lot of memorization to remember all the rhetorical devices you will learn about in this class. Do not be afraid to ask others for ways on how they remember them! You will do quite a few essays and that is normal! It is practice for your AP test. Also, you will read a few books but getting together and breaking the meaning down together is the best part. It's nice to see how others interpret things differently. All in all, I would recommend this course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course exposed me to literature that made me improve as a writer. I learned many rhetorical devices and expanded my vocabulary in this course.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was practicing to be an efficient writer in a timely manner to practice for the AP test.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice timed writing and reading! When the AP test comes around you need to be a strong reader.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Miller is horrible at uploading grades. All of my peers and I agree that she was a great personality and worked hard to connect with her students on a personal level, but that she lacked in putting as much effort in making sure we were clear on our grades and requirements. I definitely believe that AP is worth it, and the content was difficult enough to keep me engaged.

    Course highlights:

We read very interesting novels such as The Stranger, The Great Gatsby, and excerpts of other worthwhile stories.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do your work, even if Ms. Miller won't grade it. You never know what she might end up grading.
