    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking IB English because of the rigor of the course which makes one push themselves farther then they ever imagined. In this course you must watch yourself improve and when you notice you have hit a limit you must push yourself further.

    Course highlights:

Some highlights of IB English were the many presentations we went through and the strict requirements for them. Through the course I was able to learn what is expected of us as IB scholars as well as the new ways to adapt and grow my mind.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

For the students entering this course I would encourage them to be aware of their limits and be able to go beyond them. They should keep in mind that these courses were not meant to be easy and there will be many adversities that they need to overcome them.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You are taught to analyze the texts and provide your own meanings. You are expected to create your own interpretations.

    Course highlights:

You can literally come up with any interpretation, just as long as you provide evidence to support your position.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Complete the reading because you are expected to KNOW and UNDERSTAND the texts for your IB exam.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You are taught to analyze poems and literary texts in order to uncover the deeper meaning of character's actions, thoughts, and emotions. It forces you to think outside the box.

    Course highlights:

I learned that not everything has one meaning. You can interpret the texts however you want; you just have to present evidence to defend your beliefs and position.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Start getting accustomed to reading because your IB exams require you to KNOW and UNDERSTAND the texts.
