Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class prepares you for not only college english courses but for every course you'll ever take that requires analytical thinking. You are pushed to explore why you think what you think and taught how to effectively communicate your thoughts and ideas.

    Course highlights:

The final research paper is a great opportunity to both learn about writing a research paper and learn about a topic of your interest in depth. It truly develops your writing skills and is an invaluable experience.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you put your full effort into your timed-write essays but don't stress about having to revise them. Revising your papers truly helps build your writing skills and as the year progresses so will your writing. Eventually you will do well on your timed-write essays but you will not get a good score on your first few first drafts unless you are in the top 1% of people to ever take his class. Don't stress about this either. He will not always discuss the readings, still read them, they will help your writing, you need the background knowledge for discussions, and they will help you on the AP test. Speaking of the AP test, go to every AP practice you can, I didn't and I wish I had. All in all have fun, don't stress too much, and participate as much as possible.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Language & Composition is not just about writing essays. It's about finding your voice and forming your own opinions so you can better your arguments both inside and outside of the classroom.

    Course highlights:

I loved the discussions we had in class everyday. It was always relevant to what was happening in the world around us, and the teacher always kept it interesting. I learned not to be so afraid of stating my opinions.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely study the material before you go to class, so that you can have a better grasp on the discussions. Also, do your research on various subjects you might bring up in an essay.
