    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for every high school freshmen who is intrested to major in science in college because this class will prepare your for college level courses that could be offered as AP Biology at your school and by taking that class it will colleges that you are interested in that area (science) because you are taking the most rigorous science course. But I would not recommend this course to anyone who has some type of brain disease like ADHD because this class is all about memorization and if you can not memorize any of your short memory term you will unfortantley fail that class.

    Course highlights:

I learned every basic lesson that will be taught in AP Biology but no as detailes as AP Biology. I learned how to correctly use the electromagnetic microscope and I learned more about chromosomes and Mitosis.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say for every unit test go over the chapter in your text book and analyze each paragraph in your own words because that helped memorize all the concepts and that class is pretty because it is just straight up memorizations which most of us are good at.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If you enjoy learning cellular concepts in-depth (from specialized functions in the cell to genetics), Biology AP is an excellent class to take. In a way, it is very similar to Freshman Biology Honors, but the topics are intense/rigorous just like any college class. This course also revolves around hands-on experience so any person who wants to get a taste for the science equipment will definitely like this course.

    Course highlights:

Personally, I enjoy learning anatomy for it's conceptual breakdown of information. Everything I learned literally fit like a jig saw puzzle and taking Biology AP filled in gaps that I might have under looked. For example, I was able to learn more about the various tools used in a scientific lab such as a pipette (a fancy-looking one) as well as how to create electrophoresis gel. Not that making electrophoresis gel is important, I was just able to learn new ideas and techniques that I would have otherwise not have known. That just shows how Biology AP prepares you more than just the AP test. It also gives you a deeper understanding of lab procedures and how they are written.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Like many classes, do not procrastinate in this course. Try to study the notes for about 5-10 minutes every day just for a refresher because the topics learned in this class are built on top of each other. Also, try to do the homework/labs the day they are assigned to get ahead of class so if you have questions regarding the work, you can talk to the teacher.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It was a great course! Taught me a lot about bio, and steered me into a career direction. Mr. Sandvig is awesome and he's a really good teacher. Got me a 5 on the AP test, so it's worth it!

    Course highlights:

Highlight of the course was the Catalina trip, which was really fun and educational, and the food was so good.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on studying, it will hurt on the test days. Review from your book or on online stuff for supplements.
