Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Barnhouse is a fantastic teacher, and she selected incredibly interesting texts for us to read.

    Course highlights:

I loved reading Jean Paul Sarte's existential play 'No Exit', as it was incredibly funny and clever. I also enjoyed 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' by Zora Neele Hurston

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Read what you have to read, and make sure your drafts are as put together as possible before reading and critiquing them as a class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course if you love reading and going depth with what you read. If you want a challenge this would also be a great course , it is not a simple english class where you read and spit out answers that you memorized , you have to critically think about all your answers and be able discuss them to your peers. The class though difficult is very interesting and enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the debates we had in class , after we finished a novel or a few chapters of it we would stop and debate or discuss how we felt about the novel or what we thought the meaning of it was. There were occasions where things got pretty intense , which I really enjoyed, even though it was frustrating at times. I learned that most things are not so simple you have to look at things , then look at it again , then deeply think about whatever it is in order to really figure out what the author, or artist is trying to convey.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to stay on track on all of your readings ,sparknotes and shmoop will never get you through this course.
