Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this course because it helps one understand the basic structures of government and eventually appreciate the system that we have in the United States. This course is more thorough than regular economics classes and more conducive to a meaningful learning environment.

    Course highlights:

A major highlight of AP United States Government & Politics was participating in our own class presidential election. By running our own campaigns, forming unique party platforms, and debating on major political topics, we developed a greater sense of where our own loyalties lie and a new angle to look at American politics. Another highlight was analyzing the presidential election of 2016. Actively watching and taking notes on various debates during this election helped us understand some important issues and the importance of exercising one's political participation. By independently seeking out information relating to American politics, we were free to develop our own interpretations and opinions and gain a stronger understanding of what is currently happening in today's political climate.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, I would suggest that one review the material and the notes taken in class every night or every other night after school. This will help you absorb the information better as there is a lot of vocabulary to remember. I would also suggest checking your email often for updates and class assignments posted on Google Classroom.
