    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I have had Ms. Long for 3 years. Every day was a test for my strength. It was a constant struggle. I laughed, I cried, I learned, and honestly sometimes I just wanted to drop out of school entirely. But that woman, she can teach. She might not be there emotionally but she is there mentally. She teaches everything, Language, honors English, Psychology, Avid, all in the same year so I do not blame her for forgetting what class she's teaching. But I loved AP language. She had soul, wisdom and youth in her eyes.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was learning to be in this together. Frankly in the beginning of class everyone seemed to hate each other. It was through constant practice and work we all learned that life was too hard to be disliking each other. We learned how to convey our emotions with words. Our teacher would give us packets with vocabulary words. "God gave you soul, so you must share it with the world!" She would constantly preach every morning. We learned it was ok to fail. She was very strict, but i realized she was a person when I found her weeping at her desk after finding out which students didn't pass the exam. I passed. I learned how to read text. I learned how to analyze and be in the authors mind. Most of all, I learned how to love writing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not, and i mean it, DO NOT get on her bad side because she is not afraid to express her true self within her grading. Learn how to write really fast, she is really good at reading bad penmanship.
