    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is difficult but Garvin tends to help you throughout the way! The class is honestly interesting and has a lot of information

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about previous empires and the circle of life on the empires. All the empires rise up due to a powerful army but they conquer so many places. Therefore, the empire becomes extremely huge eventually resulting in the downfall of the empire.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Just ask a lot of questions. Also, READ THE TEXTBOOK!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP World History is notorious in my school for being one of the hardest AP classes offered, especially since it's for sophomores. The instructor was really good at lectures and prepared the students for the AP test. She was really strict with her AP students when it came to learning vocabulary words and wanted it to have all the important details, which was extremely helpful in understanding history as a cause and effect.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course was learning about the different religions and how they came about. We had a big group project and were each assigned a specific religion to make a presentation from. Also, it was cool being able to learn about history in a more in-depth way.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. Garvin gave a calendar every month with suggested pages to read which goes with the topics she lectured on the next day. There were also unit assignments every unit and was due the day before tests, again, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. Listen to what she says at all times, she knows what she's talking about.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was the best preparation I could have asked for in my student career, especially one as an AP student. It taught me how to manage my time efficiently and also taught me how to learn for my own brain.

    Course highlights:

Besides knowing the history of the world, which is a pretty cool thing to know, this class taught me how to write history essays and also how to be a successful student.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do exactly what Garvin tells you, and also lean how to work smart. Count your points, know which ones you need more than others. Do your IDS as soon as you can! Don't leave them for the last few days before the test, you might be tempted to, and you probably will a few times- but try not to. Most of all, keep a positive perspective, this class is insanely hard, but I promise it is so worth it.
