    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Understanding how our system of government works and the roles and responsibilities for active participation in that system is critical for good citizenship. Having a course on U.S. Government in High School helped me think about how my government relates to me. This course helped crystalize my appreciation for the concepts of separation of powers, checks and balance and multiple branches of government.

    Course highlights:

My most important insight I learned from this class is two fold. The first is that the founding fathers really understood human nature and realized that with out checks and balances on people that tyranny would prevail. It help me understand the statement that absolute power corrupts absolutely. The second part is that this human nature to want and crave power also helped create the checks and balances to safeguard against the vary tyranny the Founding Fathers were rebelling against. I also learned that the founding fathers borrowed a great deal of their ideas from enlightenment thinkers and that our system of government owes a great debt to these political philosophers.

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice I can give a student taking this course is to keep up with the reading and to take detailed notes on the reading and in class. Being prepared will help you follow the lecture from the teacher and also participate in class discussions.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would very much recommend this course because Mr. Moroaica is such a down to earth and lively teacher. He becomes your friend during this course.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would be the jeopardy before every single test. Also, the AP reviews would be very easy.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Dropbox. If you don't know what it is, find it. Yell it out in the hallways and many head will turn I promise you. But also, know your stuff. When the AP comes around, there's no Dropbox.
