Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course if a student wants to learn more about biology and sees biology as a part of their future or something they are very interested in. It is a very in-depth class and really goes into the science behind our body and the world around us. Personally I believe it is very important for students to learn about the world and how things work according to science.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were mostly learning about how the chemistry and biology of living organisms coincide to make the world we live in today. Everything has a place in this world and it is very important for us to understand even the smallest portion of it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This course takes a lot of listening and reading and it is necessary to do your own research on your own time. Things can get confusing, so I always went after class to ask my teacher to explain something in more depth so I could better understand it.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is challenging as well as extremely interesting. In this course students receive the opportunity to learn a ton about biology while also learning the standards of scientific research. The teacher is also very passionate, which makes the course that more intriguing.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the labs, in which students were able to use real materials and perform valuable research. We also had many guest speakers come to the class, which allowed students to see how biology can be applied in a professional sense. This class is very hands on which was very fun.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, stay organized! In this class there are many large assignments, but students receive the deadlines before hand. Make sure to not procrastinate on the lab assignments or let them pile up. The labs are challenging and long, as well as worth a large part of your grade, so to succeed in the class it is important to stay on top of your work and make sure you understand everything.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Anyone with an interest in biological studies is sure to find this class beyond fascinating. There is hands on Lab experience as well as much more in-depth study of biological and ecological systems. It is a course that covers everything from evolutionary patterns, the human genome and epigenome, DNA analysis, and so much more!

    Course highlights:

My favorite parts of the course were the weekly labs. Many of the labs were designed by your lab group. A problem would be presented and how to test it would be up to the group to find out why as well as make conclusions for a solution to the problem (using the information learned from the current unit).

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't procrastinate. Lab write-ups take time and are not something that can be done the night before if you want a good grade. Work hard, read the textbook and don't forget to take notes. A big part of biology is vocabulary. Secondly, it is all somehow connected together. Always be making connections in your mind such as how studying osmosis is connected to homeostasis or saltwater concentrations for different organisms.
