Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It encompasses the entirety of US history, from the arrival of the Natives to contemporary events. The class is taught in a unique style, blending several different resources, such as textbooks, testing guides, movies, documentaries, and articles together to create a collage of American history. The teacher, Mr. Petela, is a favorite among students and keeps track of his students well, giving them proper counsel and guidance through the course.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the connections made between what we learned and film and contemporary artistic representations of this content. We learned about every era of US history, and were able to apply empathy and understanding to this learning through exposure to film adaptations and documentaries. I learned about how much the US changed over time, and how political factions evolved throughout the course of the nation.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You should have self-confidence, a drive to study, and an eagerness to delve into all sorts of aspects of US history. Look forward to enjoying yourself in an AP level course, but be careful not to lose track of your workload and constantly study to be prepared for the AP test.
