Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it not only enhances your writing abilities, it also opens you up to what is going on in the world. The course makes you think about how language affects us every day in ways we didn't event realize.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the discussions in class and the group presentations. They were a challenge which is what made it so interesting. I learned about different cultures and techniques through language that can really make an impact

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Buy into it. What I mean is put in effort that is genuine because this class is not just about the letter grade. You will get to think about how you want to impact the world and the more you try, the more rewarding it is.

    This class was tough.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to write! You will write over 30 essays the entire year.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved this course. I learned so much, and have become a stronger writer because of it. Ms. Washington is an amazing teacher, who truly cared about my educational progress, and what kind of English speaker I became.

    Course highlights:

One of the best parts of the class for me was the FOA (Further Oral Assessment). We stood in front of the classroom and gave an extensive presentation. Although challenging, it was one of m favorite parts of the class, because I got personal feedback to how I was contributing to the learning environment.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise anyone taking this course to come prepared every day to discuss. A lot of what we did was write and discuss. I had always wished that I kept up on current events so that I could keep up with the current conversations in class.
