Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher makes you take specific notes that will help you pass the AP test and everything she does is based on preparing you for the AP test. It's proven because her pass rates for her class are over 75%.

    Course highlights:

I learned a new method of studying by rewriting my notes and reworking old homework problems. We make burrito books for each chapter which focuses on notes we did in class and homework problems that we found difficult. In addition, she gave the class concept reviews and is very thorough in what needs to be explained. Unlike other teachers, she can explain the problem in a million different ways and can keep the class entertained with her enthusiasm.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

All you need to do is listen to the teacher. She is literally giving you everything you need to know, you just need to meet her halfway by doing your homework, classwork, and participating in class. It's easy if you are invested in class and you pay attention. You will find her character to be very interesting and different, but that's what makes her class fun and enjoyable!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Calculus is an intellectually stimulating and challenging class. This class definitely equips you with everything you need to pass the AP exam and to excel in college.

    Course highlights:

One of the biggest advantages of taking AP Calculus at Rancho High is that Mrs. Nguyen has one of the highest pass rates for the AP exam throughout the entire school. In this class, I learned how to draw functions using the derivative and antiderivative, I learned how to find the volumes of graphs enclosed by parameters, and I learned everything an entry level college calculus class would teach.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class, you need to stay on top of all the homework assignments and ask immediately when you don't understand a concept.
