Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I loved this class and was excited every day to go. Mr. Feld made the subject matter so interesting because he was so passionate about literature and poetry and this was easily noticed. If you have even the slightest interest in English, he will make you love it.

    Course highlights:

I learned a new way to think about things I read without overanalyzing them to death. This class helped me to fine tune my writing skills by allowing me to write on a variety of topics from novels to poetry to creative pieces. It also allowed me to see important connections between literature and real life and why it's so important for us to learn about it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you don't like English classes, do not take this class. It is a substantial amount of work and if you don't enjoy it it'll be brutal. Always read the books he assigns because the quizzes are often on quotes and things you can't learn from sparknotes. Pay attention and take notes and think about the ideas he poses.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Love writing, makes you think of writing in a whole new light. It isn't a grade, it is a new way of thinking, processing and then writing.

    Course highlights:

I learned that I can be a great writer. There are three parts of every essay, intro, body and conclusion. They can be as long or short as you need to describe, analyze or convince your audience of you subject. It doesn't have to be 50 words, 100 or more. It is done when you are done.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you love or hate writing, this is your class. Don't let it intimidate you. There are a lot of great teachers and they all really want you to do well. Give it a try. At first it will seem impossible, but it will all click one day and you will get it. This comes just in time for college applications.
