    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course prepares you for the future in a way that is still useful in the present. The teacher is enthusiastic and grades pretty harshly which gets students to work harder.

    Course highlights:

my favorite part of the class is the balance of working in groups and individually, You learn a lot of note taking skills and train to be more aware of how authors write and what they are trying to say.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You will read and annotate a lot of writings and you will have to learn how to like it. You must also learn to be proficient in taking Cornell notes. If you can do those things the class will be a breeze.

It is great if you want a deeper understanding of text.

    Course highlights:

I gained experience in writing and analysis. This is needed to understand and put forth a dense answer to deep questions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Find a study group, it will be very helpful. You also needs to stay on top of your work before it overwhelms you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class has been amazing! I am always usually cautious when it comes to advanced English classes, as they tend to be boring and full of busy work. Yet, this class allows students to get involved and learn in their own way, at the same time as teaching necessary college level comprehension and writing skills.

    Course highlights:

This class focuses mainly on the analysis of works of literature and the method of composing an accurate and thorough expression of this analysis. Along with this main focus, however, Ms. Evans includes many artistic and creative projects to further the understanding of concepts in an independent way. This class has allowed me to learn so much!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The main tip I can give is: do not procrastinate on book annotations or questions. They are the most simple of assignments, yet they have the ability to sneak up on you and torture you with sudden stress.
