Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is a required course, but one that will ultimately help you throughout your entire college experience. It teachers you how to improve your writing and write argumentative papers. It can be frustrating, but also very fun if you have the right teacher.

    Course highlights:

In this course, you learn annotation, summary writing, and argumentative writing. All of these will be used in other classes and help you become a better writer. This class will also help you in advanced English classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When writing your final argumentative paper, find a topic your are truly passionate and interested in. I say this because you will have to do extensive research and this paper will account as your final in the class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I actually took this course in 1993 in the fall. The format here doesn't allow for those dates to be selected!

    Course highlights:

I have used so many of the skills I learned as a professional in emergency services. I have had to write many reports, evaluations and recommendations using the skills I learned in my first college english course. These skills are so important.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard and don't take the easy road.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's a great refresher course for those who haven't taken an English class for a while or weren't very good in high school. It's a lot of essay writing, but it is also a good introduction to what most english type classes look like.

    Course highlights:

We learned the grammar basics the first few weeks. Then we dived into essay writing. We learned how to approach the different types of essay form summary, to argumentative. We worked on how to expand our essays to the desired lengths and how to make them better overall. We worked as a class to peer edit essays and to help each other create strong essay ideas.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Seek help directly from your professor. Also find a place that does essay help and tutoring. They will help you write essays, edit them and become confident in your writing skills.
