    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor expected a knowledge level that was way above an introductory course. HALF of our class failed the final which meant that we failed the class. She would give examples in class but honestly even with doing the book reading and going to class I felt like I was being talked down to.

    Course highlights:

I learned interesting things about chemistry that made me want to learn more.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book and be prepared to spend a lot of time outside of class studying.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The professor tried hard but it's only her second semester teaching and it was definitely lacking. She didn't give nearly enough examples of the concept and when she did give examples of the concepts she didn't actually let US work through them. It was supposed to meet for 3 hours a week for lecture but we routinely got out an hour early because she rushed through lecture. Seriously frustrating because when got to the test or quiz felt like what the heck we didn't cover this or you didn't give enough information.

    Course highlights:

We got out early all the time! Meant had more time to study at home.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to study a lot on your own time and look up concepts and examples because not nearly enough are given by the professor.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class was a great introduction to being in a lab. It teaches professional, scientific skills that cannot be learned outside of the laboratory.

    Course highlights:

A lab notebook is kept and actually utilized throughout the course. By working with a lab partner, one must learn how to properly interact with other individuals of the same intellect in a mildly dangerous environment. This also teaches a student to select one's lab partner very carefully.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The most important thing to concentrate on in this course is absorbing, not just memorizing, the material. This will make labs and exams much easier.
