    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Being apart of the AVID academy brings a great amount of resources you wont receive from other academies on campus. You have a one-on-one relationship with your teacher and they will make sacrifices so you can become successful. Especially if you have Ms. De La Torre as a teacher. She is the most hard-working, dedicated teacher I have ever met. I have been with her throughout my four years of high school an I cant thank her enough for all the sacrifices she made for her students. Aside form all the classwork, you get to take fun trips with your friends to visit colleges and maybe find the school you want to go to. If it weren't for me being in AVID, I wouldn't have a clue of what schools were up north of California. If you want a successful person and have a goal of continue your education a a college after you graduate high school AVID is for you.

    Course highlights:

I learned about time management, how to apply for scholarships, college entry tests like the SAT, ACT and SAT subject tests. I also learned how to apply for colleges, which is what I am currently doing. The most important thing you will learn that you will apply to your every day life is organization. Being organized is essential if you want to be successful in AVID.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you come into this class with an open mind and be open to constructive criticism. these teachers only want the best of you and want to see every student be successful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend AVID to everyone because through this course and program I've learned discipline, leader ship skills, organizational skills and it's prepared me for college. AVID is a very important class because its preparing you for the real world something most classes do not.

    Course highlights:

Personally, highlights of this course for me where being able to do tutorials which is a big part of AVID because they allowed me to have a broader mindset. Tutorials taught me to ask questions other can engage in. Lastly, AVID has taught me above the different universities here in California preparing me to take a step closer in making a decision for my education.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be organized and always stay on task. Being organized is the main focus of AVID once you're organized I believe you're ready to go.
