    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

You read a lot in and out of class and there is a lot of essays. Mrs. Kessler is nice and a really good storyteller. I would recommend taking the class.

    Course highlights:

Mrs. Kessler brings you brownies on days where you have to write essays. Also, you have a lot of free time in class to get your homework done. You learn how to write essays better.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend talking to Mrs. Kessler. She is really sweet and honestly cares about helping you. Also, the AP test is basically quizzing you on reading comprehension so if you are not confidant in that area than I would advise against it. Also, the class is not an easy A, but she does offer extra credit.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it allows for you to understand the workings of rhetoric and syntax in normal life. This course depends on the motivation you have for the subject and the affinity you have for the subject matter.

    Course highlights:

I loved being able to learn about the background of advertisements and why things are written the way that they are. The constant writing has really upped my writing game.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to be able to apply yourself totally to the course and read the materials in depth to be able to contribute to classroom discussions. The writing aspect is not the most difficult, just use common sense and you will succeed.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend AP Language and Composition to anyone looking for a more complete understanding of the working of influential speech in their everyday lives. A thorough examination of past writings is what constitutes the majority of the time in and out of class.

    Course highlights:

What was most impactful to me and my daily life was the ability to discern when a rhetorical device is being used in a piece of writing or an ad that I was watching. The skill of actually writing using rhetoric is one that I used nearly daily in other classes and in daily life but I never acknowledged that I was doing it until this class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Keeping your head above water in this class is easy enough if you do the outside readings. If you slack off there is a definite possibility of not understanding the subject matter discussed in class.
