    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's one of the easier APs to take especially if you have Mrs. Mitchel. The only hard thing in the class is the homework which is doing Cornell notes for the textbook chapters (each chapter is about 40-60 pages long and it is VERY time consuming). But other than that, the tests are easy (the MC are based on Kahoot games you play in class so don't be absent on those review days!; she also gives you the FRQs ahead of time to prepare). She is a very nice teacher and is good at what she does so as long as you do your work, you'll be fine.

    Course highlights:

This class will definitely teach you not to procrastinate!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Just do your work, use the materials she gives you to study for the AP test, do your notes properly because she actually checks them, also a hint of advice, towards the end of the year, there will be a mock test for the AP exam...GO TO IT because that will be the same/similar test to the class final!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mrs. Mitchell is the best AP Gov teacher at Santiago! She truly loves and cares about each of her students and is very knowledgeable about what she teaches.

    Course highlights:

I can't speak for everyone, but for someone who's fascinated by political science, this class was a real treat. Mitchell takes you through the admittedly dense text and explains how every governmental institution came to be. It has its share of history, so be prepared.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

DO. THE. OUTLINES. If you want to take any APs, but especially Mitchell's class, know that you're getting yourself into lots of homework. I didn't say it wasn't worth it, or that I didn't learn a lot, though.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Government with Mrs. Mitchel provided me with SO MUCH insight on politics in the United States, and she also treats all of her students like her own children. She is an ANGEL and her AP test pass rate is HIGH. I already miss her and her class so much.

    Course highlights:

I gained so much insight in this class and it allowed me to fully establish my own personal understanding with politics. Mrs. Mitchel stays unbiased for the most part and her lectures are very interesting. It also made me feel confident and prepared for college.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To be honest read the book and actually do your notes. Also DONT procrastinate because it is awful if you do. Always bring your book to class and consistently review the vocabulary words for each chapter. And don't ever get on her bad side aka just be a good person.
