This class was tough.
I would recommend this class in a heartbeat. I admit, it was not the easiest class to take, and most of the opportunity for success in it was independently driven. Every student has responsibility for their own prosperity and the actions taken to reach a prosperous education. It challenged me, but by the end of the course, it was my most rewarding class by far.
The thing about this course is that there's an incredible amount of information packed into an insufficient amount of time to learn it all. The highlights of the class for me was the video clips shown. For example, crashcourse is such an amazing source of information and summarizes what we'd learned that day in about 8 minutes. Or, for example, some PBS videos that delved deeper into a topic than we previously did. Videos were engaging and helped my style of learning tremendously.

Advice for students:
DO THE READINGS! We were given a lot of responsibility in that along with whatever homework we were assigned, we were to keep up with readings in our textbook. This was an unappealing task, as each chapter averaged about 30 pages, but the cost of foregoing the readings, in terms of comprehension and ability to keep up in class, was paramount.
