    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I believe that taking an advanced course on the way our government is important. It is important for all students in the U.S. to have a great understanding of how our government works and why it is set up the way it is. It is a fun course where you learn about your rights as a citizen and how our government has come to be what it is today! You'll also learn about current events in the political world that the U.S. is involved in.

    Course highlights:

It is a fun course where you get to dive into your studies by creating your own amendments and simulating a mock Senate. Most students will learn about the Federalist Papers, and spend a good amount of time studying the amendments to the Constitution. It is definitely the class for any student who likes to read and be involved in their courses.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful in any AP class, you must have an understanding of how you study best. Whether that is highlighting and rereading, or taking notes during lectures, or simply just listening to the teacher during lectures, you must know how you retain information best because AP classes are fast paced. Above all else, study! Study during your off-periods, before you go to bed, during homerooms. Any time that you have to sit down and dedicate to this class will benefit you in the long run.
