Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The information covered in this class is incredibly unique and valuable, not to mention graduate level. Combine this with amazing instructors (I really cannot emphasize this enough, they are fantastic) and interesting labs, the class becomes informative and fun.

    Course highlights:

My personal favorite part of this course was regarding the DNA Barcoding lab as it was the first foray into independent research I had. I got to select my own project, execute it more or less autonomously, and then be challenged at the final paper. This was also one of the rare occurrences where I enjoyed writing a paper.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Put as much detail as you can in your lab notebook, if you think you have enough add more. Also, remember that even though the information may get difficult at times, the teachers are there for you to learn it.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course because it teaches you skills you will be able to apply to college level labs and courses.

    Course highlights:

You learn how to pay attention to detail. Everything in biotechnology is very detail oriented, it will help you learn how to follow detailed lab protocols and write at a college research level.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to schoology to do the study sessions before tests, this will help you be able to focus your studying for the tests.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is incredibly fun as you do labs all year-round and are always learning/doing fun, new stuff.

    Course highlights:

The best thing about this course is the real-world lab work that you get to practice so that when you go to get a job, you already have experience. This is also a good resume builder.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you show up to class and put in the effort to learn the stuff that is taught, don't slack off, and do the experiments you will both succeed and enjoy the class.
