Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course, Biotech, allows students to work with higher level lab equipment and receive real lab experience. Students also have the opportunity to create their own lab and research curriculum they are interested in rather than being forced to learn a certain subject.

    Course highlights:

I learned the importance of maintaining a sterile environment when completing a lab. Even the slightest bacteria has the capability of changing the results of an experiment. I learned how to create DNA barcodes, write a proper journal article, and how to do PCR.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly recommend taking this course if you are even a little bit interested in science because this course makes you fall in love with completing experiments. The curriculum is unlike any other science class I have taken and the teachers actually value their students and have a passion for the subject they are teaching.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a new way to look at science; including an intro to Microbiology mixed with lots of labs and different perspectives on current issues. It is great because you also get to explore different careers when you are doing these labs, nothing like this is typically done in a high school setting, so if you're passionate about science, DO NOT pass this up.

    Course highlights:

I gained an extensive knowledge for many things in Biology. I now know DNA replication more and have a more in depth understanding of how the body works and how we can use science to better the world. It is a great class, I loved debating Stem cells and GM foods.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study for the tests with friends and make different tricks to remember things like DNA replication and RNA replication.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Biotech is a great way to do laboratory work while also learning the statistics and how things work.

    Course highlights:

I loved biotech because I am interested in science. You learn a lot about genetics and how the world has changed things. You also learn about GMO's, Stem Cells, RNAi, Gene expression, and more. I am in biotechnology two right now and currently am doing research with C. elegans that are induced with Alzheimer's. and how CBD and Lions Mane mushroom extract affect their paralysis.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you're passionate about science and willing to work hard. Not too much homework but when there is, it may be a lot. There are a lot of nitty gritty things that are important. Missing this class is rough.
