    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved learning about the different biological processes and how my body defended itself from bacteria. This was a difficult course, as any AP class is, but the effort I put in really paid off as I am so much more knowledgeable about my own body.

    Course highlights:

The best part about this course for me was learning about the cell and its functions and its division process. We did several lab experiments which allowed us to further our understanding of each unit.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You must do the notes, as they are a big part of your grade when they are all combined and they also help you to get a basic understanding of the content.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class furthered my education of life and what goes on in my own body. This class actually helped me come to the decision to be an orthodontist in my future because the human body is interesting and amazing and bones/ teeth are so unique and important.

    Course highlights:

The best part of Mrs. Riggs class was all the Visio projects we made because they were so interactive and fun, while everyone got to tech the class something different about a body system. It kept the whole class interested and involved.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In biology, paying atttention to details is very important. Every cell and every organism is different. Studying vocabulary is also very important.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course because the teacher will help you to learn on a deeper level. When you are struggling, she is eager to help. You will learn a variety of subjects from genetics to homeostasis. It is a fun course and would be especially great for your sophomore or freshmen year.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part was learning genetics. I loved making the boxes and seeing what the percentage was for a trait to occur. We also learned about disabilities and how some of them are caused by one's genetics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest that you make notecards. Lots and lots of notecards! This will help you to memorize the many things that you will need to know. And remember to study every night. This is extremely important. Also, go in for extra help if you need it.
