Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this class! After taking this class, I acquired new skills in writing and reading that helped me on the SAT, ACT, and writing essays in general. Due to the high amount of reading and writing required for this class, I can say that it motivated me to become a better writer and reader.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of taking AP Lang was the small reading and writing activities we did during class every time we met. The small assignments gradually became harder which helped me adjust to the expectations of the class and my teacher. I learned how to answer questions and write well written essays for the AP exam, thanks to the small assignments that my teacher made us do everyday. I also learned how to develop a voice in my writing because of the practice we did in strengthening our voice through writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you have a passion for reading and writing! Without that passion your voice will not be as powerful in your writing nor will you enjoy the constant reading and writing assignments. This class strengthens your skills as a reader and writer but be sure that you yourself is motivated to let the class help you. Pace yourself for the timed essays, and put an infinite effort in the big essays. Know your test skills to prepare for the multiple choice tests and remember to read carefully! good luck writers!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course really taught me the basics and complexities of English. It taught me how to be a better writer, speaker, and student. The class was hard in some ways, just like all classes, but at the same time, it was broken down well enough for me to understand. Ms. Lo is intimidating at first, but she really pushes you to your best abilities. If I could go back to this class, I would in a heart beat.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was the focus on the AP test in May. We really learned the structure of the test inside out. Each quarter, we would focus on one particular essay type and multiple choice questions. Because of this class, I felt confident on my AP exam.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do your essays!! If you have any questions regarding your writing or anything really, don't be afraid to ask questions. A lot of the work is based on group effort, so make sure you work with your members and not on your own! Also, make sure you study the vocabularies instead of just memorizing them! Those words will definitely help you become a better writer
