Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Cogdill is an absolute joy to have! She is so passionate about the college, her students, and the aspects of business and what it takes to be successful. She is so humorous and she makes the lectures enjoyable to be in. She is very compassionate and understanding that her students all have different situations but she is able to adjust for all of them. She has sat down with me and helped me find scholarships and contacts that pertain to my major. Coming from a military family, she has the work ethic, respect, and intelligence that you look for in a person. The aspect that I most take from her is her drive. Even now, she continues to push forward as she now works towards her PHD. Overall, an absolute role model and inspiring woman.

    Course highlights:

Other than the professor, I enjoyed her style of teaching. All of the homework assignments were done online through connect which made them very convenient to get them done. Her lectures always pertained to the chapter we read before class. Her lectures were energetic and entertaining which made it fun to go to class and helped me focus. It was also the best time to ask questions because she would go in depth and I always left at class with a deeper understanding of the chapter. One of my favorite days, however, would be when someone's phone went off. She has a strict no phone policy. If a person's phone rang during class, that person had to buy cookies for everyone. That policy goes for everyone since Professor Cogdill's phone rang once and she too had to buy cookies.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

ALWAYS do the reading. The homework assignments and the tests are all based on the chapters in the book. Go to the lectures with a list of any and all questions. She will be more than happy to answer them and she goes in depth. Tests are mainly applied questions because she wants to make sure that you understand the material so don't just hunt for answers when doing the homework. Go to her office hours for ANYTHING; whether it is related to the class or not she will be more than willing to help. Last but not least, do not let your phone ring or else you will have to buy cookies!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this class, due to the fact that the professor has the ability to not only teach the subject to the students in an easy way to comprehend and use in the real world, but also makes the class enjoyable to sit through every week.

    Course highlights:

The main highlights of the course was the stock market project. With this project, students get to choose 5 stocks, which are watched for a total of 15 days. Everyday the student must type the change in the price of the selected stock into a table, and record how much money was either lost or gained.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this class, you must do the assigned homework, quizzes, tests, and projects.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Corrigan was able to present the information in a way which peaked my interest of business. Our focus was on gaining a basic information of steps to consider when starting a business.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was the stock sheet that professor Corrigan had us complete each week. At the beginning of the school year, we chose four publicly traded companies and we followed their stock prices. At the end of the year, I learned about different events which cause fluctuations in the stock market. I also learned how to read financial reports which are released by a company.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My biggest advice would be to show up to class. Professor Corrigan finds ways to involve the students so you do not get bored during his class. If you have any interest in getting a basic overview of how business and markets work, I would recommend this course.
