Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course provides a hands-on introduction to chemistry. Chemistry 142 touches on subjects that you covered in high school, but goes deeper into the "why" behind them. It is challenging and rewarding.

    Course highlights:

This course helped me understand basic formulas used in chemistry and helped me understand the organization of the periodic table. In the lab, I learned the proper way to use many different types of laboratory equipment and how to safely use and dispose of chemicals.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Practice, practice, practice. In this class one cannot practice too much. The professor provided multiple packets for students to study at their leisure, and those who utilized these practice problems achieved excellent scores and mastered the material.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really liked Dr. Trail's class. I thought he was a great professor. The class is not too terribly difficult, I thought he made exams a bit too easy by giving all constants and equations. I had him for two semesters, received an A in each class and thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about general chemistry. I went in viewing it as just a class that I had to take, but I grew to like it and took the second semester by choice. Dr. Trail is very knowledgeable and is eager to share that knowledge. He is a veritable fountain of knowledge when it comes to chemistry and life In general.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into the course with a good mindset and you will do just fine. If you do struggle, coach to office hours, where the professor is very helpful.
