Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because the professor is very passionate about what she teaches

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was definitely all the hands-on experience we were given in the labs. Dissections and microscopes were used almost every week

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study study study. Simply going to class isn't enough. Kurtz gives you a lot of tools that make it easy to study so use them!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is great because it helps anyone prepare for advanced science courses. It gives basic information on multiple science subjects, and truly helps you discover which type of science you enjoy the most i.e Histology, Anatomy, Botany, Genetics, etc. Taking a science course like biology 110 can help you discover if science truly is your passion, and if it is, then it can help you choose which science you would like to go into in the future. This science course taught me that science can be challenging, but it is interesting to learn more about how organisms work together as a whole to build communities. Before taking this class, it is important to know that a lot of studying and hard work will be put into receiving a desired grade. It is always good to make note cards, and create study groups to facilitate learning.

    Course highlights:

For me, the highlight of this course was definitely the histology unit. I loved looking at different tissues through a microscopic. It is shocking to see how different tissues look like inside of the human body. A lot of the tissues looked alike, so it was a challenge distinguishing between tissues, but it was fun and interesting. I learned all about the different types of tissues such epithelial and connective. They look pretty cool to me!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To those students interested in taking this course, I suggest that you study and plan accordingly for it. This course is challenging, but it really teaches you a lot. I suggest making note cards and study guides to help you study for this course. Creating questions that may be on the test and learning the answers for those questions really helped me study for this course. Example: What type of tissue can be found in the kidneys? Answer: simple cuboidal epithelial tissue.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was tough. As much as I studied I could never do good. One of the hardest classes I've taken in my life.

    Course highlights:

I've learned that Biology in college is nothing close to what biology in high school was like.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you haven't of time for this class because it seriously requires lots of times.
