Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    R. Stewart is a phenomenal professor. She encourages a positive community around writing, creating an invigorating and exciting space to come to learn and edit your work. Enter the class with an open mind and a willingness to try something different and you will be amazed what will come of it.

    Course highlights:

From the first day, you learn about other students creativity doing exercises with one another to collaborate and combine ideas to create stories together to better understand each others writing styles which helps with editing and critiquing later on in the class when you begin to work on independent projects.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do all of the work. The exercises help make your writing much more developed and help you understand all the nuances of each genre. Use the office hours as often as you can and listen to critiques given. They are only suggestions to make your work better.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Creative Writing lets me express myself like nothing else can. Being able to write is an empowering experience, and to be able to learn my craft was awesome.

    Course highlights:

I gained new skills to use when I write. That and I was able to receive from fellow writers and the teacher. It was all great constructive criticism from people who all wanted to be there.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be lazy. Just write whatever you feel. The easiest part of writing is coming up with the idea. But the scariest part is executing those ideas into a story. Don't be too fearful though. Once you write something down, you can always come back and edit it.
