    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because I gained a lot out of it. It taught me to not procrastinate and map out my essays in a reasonable way. Not only has it helped me in English, but in other classes that require essays as well. I wrote papers from three pages to twelve pages.

    Course highlights:

This course overall made me a more successful essay writer. I learned how to do useful research on the topic of my essays. The most helpful thing I learned as how to start my essays and how to write a strong thesis statement. I also learned how to format my essay and to cite in MLA style. The teacher helps along the way and gives plenty of class time to work and ask questions. I now know large words that I never knew before.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

My biggest advice is to be prepared to work! In all honesty, it is not an easy class. It is very easy to procrastinate, which in the end makes it harder on yourself. Do not be afraid to ask for help with something you do not understand such as citations. Be up for the challenge because it definitely pays off in the end. It will help with essays in other courses and with college applications.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Albert may be an odd one but he can inspire and sympathize with his students, he's a teacher that knows writing is an art that can compare to music in a general sense.

    Course highlights:

He made us write research papers into subjects that interested us. Though it might be common, it was an essay paper that I wouldn't mind improving and rewriting.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Show up everyday and be prepared to understand the elements presented in the story.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Wilson is a teacher who is absolutely passionate about the subject she is teaching, the class is engaging, informative, and even entertaining.

    Course highlights:

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about poetry in an insightful and enthusiastic way that poetry has never been articulated to me. Learning about poetry through this class gave me a new perspective on the topic.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I advise always making sure to write down due dates and your project guidelines as Ms. Wilson verbally communicates these things to students rather than handing out a rubric.
