Not too easy. Not too difficult.
It is a fascinating exploration into the history of American culture and how it has developed since 1877. Many interesting topics are discussed and the group discussion angle of the course gives each student a chance to voice his/her opinion.
The assigned readings were definitely the highlight of the course, as they were both fascinating and engaging. Getting to discuss the readings in class in a large group setting taught me the importance of analyzing differing viewpoints and how multiple opinions can help students better understand the topics covered.

Advice for students:
Analyze the assigned readings thoroughly and give yourself plenty of time to ensure you understand the concepts well enough to discuss them in class. Participation points are earned by meaningfully contributing to in-class discussions, and it is beneficial to know what you're talking about. Taking good notes is key to doing well on exams, and adequately studying those notes in depth will give you the best chance at earning a passing grade.
