Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class almost solely based on the teacher that I had. Mr. Semelsberger was focused and hardworking and would do whatever he needed to make sure his students could handle and maintain the hefty workload.

    Course highlights:

It was interesting to learn about all the different cultures around the world that have developed over time, as well as making connections as to where our own American society originated. Additionally, as this was my first AP course, it taught a disciplined and rigorous study schedule that had stayed with me throughout high school.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Carefully consider your own personal work ethic before enrolling! It is not by any means an "easy" course, and will require hours of individual studying because of the large amount of content.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are looking to enter AP, this is a good class to start with. It's difficult in a way that requires lots of outside work, and will be a good indicator on whether or not you can handle the AP work load and should continue on to other AP classes.

    Course highlights:

The teacher kept the course fairly interesting. You go through sections pretty quickly so there isn't a lot of time to focus on each individual time period, but it's a good idea to keep the interesting sections in mind as there is an end of the year project on a time period of your choosing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book. It's a bit of a joke in that class that this is the advice everybody gives you, but it's given for a reason. The quizzes are impossible to pass without reading. Take the reading in sections. I tried to finish the section on test day and answer the questions at the end of each chapter to get a gauge on how well I understood the section.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is challenging but not impossible. It is interesting and keeps you engaged in history.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me many things about history including connections between events and locations that I never knew existed. It also taught me time management and balancing my schedule.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read your textbook and AP study book, they are life SAVERS!!! Also getting study flashcards is really useful and constantly be studying.
