Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Honors Chemistry basically focused on the principals of teaching how the something worked or rather how the world works the way it does. Straight-forward, the course will teach the student the entwined hand-off between mathematics and the sciences. It will help teach the student the elements of the periodic table, basic measurements and conversions, balance chemical equations, and the interactions between elements. With chemistry, you will learn non-academic skills such as the ability to understand how cooking works or why water is heavy, etc. As it is the foundation for the other sciences, it will enable the student to learn the "why" factor in sciences.

    Course highlights:

A definite highlight were the labs because the student was able to test chemistry out or rather find out why things "ticked". I personally learned the basics of chemical interactions, elements of the periodic table, and the "why" as to how things came to be.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

A perfect way to prep for this course is to memorize the periodic table whether it be through a song or other mnemonic devices. More ways to prep during summer is to practice general measurement conversions, understand significant numbers, and be able to do simple chemical problems.
