    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it teaches the student how to correctly analyze and respond to different forms of literary text. In addition, it broadens the student's vocabulary and improves his or her's reading comprehension by reading high level books, articles, and excerpts from a variety of sources.

    Course highlights:

The highlight was reading The Scarlet Letter, it significantly helped to improve my reading comprehension skills and, although it was a fictional story, it gave me insight to historical events that were taking place during the time period the story was set in. It also helped to widen my vocabulary by having a vocabulary list every week of reading it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to be determined and be willing to put in the effort because it certainly is a class with a considerable amount of homework. You should also be proficient in English coming into the class, it is meant to push avid English speakers, writers, and readers, and improve those skills even further; it is not meant for any students still in the process of learning English and it is specifically meant for students who have taken honors english classes in years prior.
