    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Johnson is an amazing teacher, who cares for the students as much as he does the subject.

    Course highlights:

The best parts of the course were having fun and getting to know fellow classmates in fun activities.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

do the homework even though it may seem small or not necessary it definitely helps in the learning process.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it expands your vocabulary greatly in the first semester with academic words, and in the second semester, you learn more terms defining figurative devices. It also improves your writing ability greatly in argumentative and analysis essays.

    Course highlights:

The highlight for me was learning how to write a synthesis essay. I had never heard of this essay before and it didn't require much background information because the essay prompt provides you with six sources to include evidence from.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Try to take honors english classes before taking this because that will give you a more developed vocabulary and it will go over how to write rhetorical analysis before you enter this course which helps significantly. Also be aware of the timed essays you must write in this class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to any student taking the basic English. Mrs Bachmann has so many ways of really getting her class to focus on the topic at hand. She does such a great job at explaining things and making them interesting so you can't help but toon in.

    Course highlights:

The first unit was our slave narrative unit. We learned and read about the life of Fredrick Douglass and wrote short essays comparing older slavery to modern day slavery. Right now we are in our short story unit researching Edgar Allen Poe the very famous writer.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There is fine line between a teacher and your friend. Mrs Bachmann can most definitely be both but that is up to the student. Mrs Bachmann wants nothing more than for her students to succeed so if there is something in the way of that she will let you know. Take her seriously.
