This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Data driven statistics is difficult lengthy functions that help describe sets of data. Statistics is a lot more about conveying information about data sets rather than calculating them, although it is both. I enjoyed the challenge and the life-long information gained from this course.
Course highlights:
The highlights in this course are learning that presented data, especially in the media, conveyed by experts, can be wrong, misleading, or biased. I cannot explain how often I look at published surveys or statistics on nutrition that should bot be published to those who cannot interpret it correctly.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Statistics is more about deduction than logic, although mathematical functions fill the subject. Interpretation and comprehension is the necessary qualities for success in this class. Ask about every step that is taken to derive certain numbers, because it can be complex.
