The professor engages the students on a more humanistic level due to his profession outside the classroom. He is very patient and also knows the law fairly well, also helps his students in any way that he can, when he is able.
The highlights of this course for me, was the ability to actually delve into what makes a criminal choose to do what they do and why.. I learned about the very basic levels of why criminology is so important within the Criminal Justice System.

My best advice to you in taking this course or one similar to it, would be to have an open mind, be prepared to do a lot of research as well as writing, and do not get nervous. Professor Fitzgibbons is one of the nicest instructors on the planet and he will help you with extra student/teacher help when he is available to do so.
