Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is very self-explanatory in that if you enjoy reading and studying literature, you will enjoy this class. The teacher is very good at going into depth about the books and poems we read as well as respecting student's ideas. Overall, this is a challenging course in the workload, but will not be difficult for a student who takes joy in English.

    Course highlights:

The best part about this course was some of the literature we studied, including great American novels and plays such as, "A Streetcar Named Desire". None of the books we studied were dull or hard to analyze, however were sometimes difficult to get through. I learned a lot about poetry and how to properly analyze poetry.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this course you must be willing to read the required novels and be ready to analyze every chapter thoroughly. You also must be prepared to write bi-weekly poetry responses and various essays throughout the year, often analyzing poems of various lengths.
