    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend taking AP English for your junior year of high school because it is very helpful in developing your writing skills and it highly challenges you. This course makes you think and analyze texts to write your papers much more than a regular College Preparatory English class would. AP English expands your reading, or like in some cases this course makes you read,by the teachers having the students read a variety of non-fiction works and less than 5 fictional novels (Ms.Sun only let her AP classes read three fictional novels throughout the whole year) for the whole school year. This class really helps in preparing students for future writing tasks and classes.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of taking AP English was reading the articles and texts that were assigned to me for homework everyday. Many students avoid reading because it can take time, but when I would sit down and read the articles that were assigned to me I would find that what I was reading was interesting and I would be captured by what the author was saying. Taking AP English helped open my eyes to issues that our states have and this made me think about the environment that I live in and I'd make comparisons between the two The issues that I would read about often pop up not only in articles but also in literature but it is often masked by the plot and themes that's in the work. I find that being educated about issues in the world makes people well informed citizens and that is a very good strength to develop and have.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

When taking AP English you MUST be on top of your homework and your reading because if you aren't you will fall behind. The AP English course I took would hold discussions everyday about the readings that were assigned to us for homework. Another thing that students must be able to do is they must be able to prepare themselves to be challenged in their writing and analytical skills, they must not give up when this course gets tough. If students give up, they aren't trying hard enough. Prepare for stress, but this class is worth it.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it allows you to think further about why we do certain things that we don't normally stop to analyze or second-guess. This course has also benefited me on applying material and study habits to every day scenarios.

    Course highlights:

I learned that a student must think beyond the surface level and develop an understanding of what this course has to offer.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advice students to be ready to challenge themselves in a way that will benefit their style of critical thinking.
