    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It helps you understand writing more; however, it made me less confident about my writing. I now know more about writing and the different techniques one can use. It is helpful but if you do not learn much from it or put in enough work, it won't effect you much.

    Course highlights:

I learned that there are many ways to write an essay and there are many types of essays you can write. Some essays will be easier than others and some will be more joyful and fun to write.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to pay close attention when writing your essays and make sure to answer the prompt.

    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this class. Although it is a rigorous course and the workload was nonstop I learned how to become a better writer. My vocabulary expanded due to Ms. Austin holding adult conversation with us and my sarcasm intensified due to having to endure the pain of weekly timed writes. Overall, this class introduced me to what a real challenge is.

    Course highlights:

I gained rhetorical writing skills that will be crucial in college. Basically everything you write is persuasion. You're trying to convince your reader of your interpretation of a work and you present them with evidence to plead your case. Developing your own voice and writing style is key to keep your writing from becoming too formulaic and this class helps you find your voice

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do your homework. Eat a big meal before timed writes. Never compare your writing to others because we all grow at different rates. Don't let your sense of humor die.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class truly challenged me as a writer and my abilities to critique myself honestly. I had the best teacher ever, who was always open to helping me with my deadly comma splices. I've never looked at any piece of writing or TV commercial the same!

    Course highlights:

I really did better myself as a writer and someone open to advice. I learned so much about how to voice yourself through your writing, and to this day I remember that.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It's very important to try your hardest and take into thought the comments your teacher leaves. They want to help. It may hurt your feelings, but they know what they're doing.
