    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is very interactive, knowing how to talk to the students as well as balancing fun with academics. Garrett will push you to do your best, and you will easily adapt to what needs to be done. This class teaches you not only about the history of the United States, but also how to effectively write a good analytical essay about certain documents.

    Course highlights:

The teacher will introduce topics which are best understood through activities. To explain McCarthyism, Garrett created a game in which certain students were chosen as Communists. The students were to create groups which do not have any Communists in it. The point of this exercise is to show that anyone can be assumed as a Communist, and the fear of such drives others to isolate their own friends. Fun was paired with a history lesson in American paranoia, but no one really felt paranoid. Everyone was just having fun!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Continuously take notes. Even though the teacher will cover what is in the lesson, taking notes will help you understand what the topics are. Give yourself a challenge and find in-depth connections, such as the contribution a significant event had on a greater cause.
