    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Professor Volkert wants to see you succeed and will help you do that. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

    Course highlights:

Professor Volkert helped me understand and enjoy chemistry. I learned the very important basics as well as ways to memorize them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you ask questions. No matter what the question, if you don't understand, ask. Also, make sure you meet one-on-one with professor Volkert. She loves helping her students personally.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Gen chem is the perfect introduction to the complex world of chemistry. You definitely find out whether or not this atomically minuscule course of study is right for you.

    Course highlights:

After taking an advanced chem class in high school, this expanded upon that and even introduced to me more topics including acid and bases, buffers, molecular orbital theory, and the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Study with a group-- it makes it a lot more fun and you learn the most from your peers.

Ian is a friendly, curious, and sometimes a bit eccentric professor.

    Course highlights:

I was able to develop a much stronger base knowledge of the the subject.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings early and finish the assignments on time.
