    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Super interesting subject with an amazing professor. I would highly recommend this class, and this teacher particularly for anyone who has to take this class. You will learn a lot in a short amount of time, but the class is very enjoyable.

    Course highlights:

We used the textbook Psychology in everyday life written by David G. Meyers. You will read the whole book within the quarter, and exams will be in content directly from the textbook. You will learn about everything for human behavior, the function and structure of the brain, and various psychological conditions and therapies. You will also learn about the history of psychology, and the important psychologists that influenced the field.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to read the textbook thoroughly, because the whole class is centered around it. All you homework assignments, and tests specifically reference the textbook. You will be required to write a lot, and answer essay questions from the textbook that will be discussed in class. Always check your work and cite your sources for each assignment, because the Mrs. Frantz will absolutely give out zeros if she finds even one phrase that is plagiarized.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I definitely recommend this course because the professor makes the learning environment fun and comfortable.Despite being told psychology is a very complex and difficult course, I personally enjoyed the course none the less due to the professor's excellent ability to teach effectively. I loved that the professor provided learning objectives so that the textbook readings were narrowed down to what you were mainly being tested on.

    Course highlights:

I learned the complex systems of the human mind and body which I believe is not only beneficial for everyone to know but it was also interesting to study and learn. There are several days where I am successfully able to apply my PSYCH 100 knowledge to real life situations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I advise thoroughly reading the chapters assigned in the textbook because the book is solely your learning resource and your ultimate best friend if you want to succeed and ace tests/assignments. Always, always, always study the given learning objectives as it will help you in the long run during exams. Being prepared is being smart.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Super fascinating and a great introduction to the world of psychology. Learn the basic functions of the brain, nervous system and behaviors. Study the patterns in human behavior and how we interact with each other and ourselves.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about myself and the people around me which was my favorite part. Being that I've got so many personal life experiences to draw on, a lot of this made sense and kind of clicked the missing pieces into place for me. It was challenging but understandable. Lots of reading but it's all very informative and interesting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't fall behind in the reading. Take all of the chapter assessments and take copious notes of anything that is confusing to you. Relate the topics and concepts to yourself and your own life, engage in discussions with your classmates and don't be afraid to reach out for extra help. Enjoy the wonderful world of Psychology!
