Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the class because it taught me how to do independent studying. It prepared me for other AP classes and was a great learning experience from labs to taking notes and tests.

    Course highlights:

The best things in this class were the labs. The labs thought me more thoroughly about the things we were learning throughout the chapters of the the book. It is an intense class that gives you the the full experience of learning biology with plants and animals. We even did projects about controlling water and creating tilapia tanks.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you do not enjoy reading, I highly don't recommend you taking this course because it will contain a lot of reading. The tests in itself require that you have read and know what the topic is about. Overall though, if you already have this course, I suggest you do not procrastinate and to keep up with the work that is given to you. Start thinking about the test that you would be taking the coming May and practice.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because AP Biology is very interesting and so detailed. The class is very hard but it keeps you stimulated and thinking. Study! Study! Study! Studying will help you understand what the topics are about and will help you comprehend all the complexities involving everything pertained to life. Especially if you want to go to the medical/dental field AP Biology will help give you a grasp of what will be taught to you in college. This is a great opportunity and will make you look so good!

    Course highlights:

Being in AP Biology you don't just learn one thing, but you learn a variety of things. If you ever want to the whole explanation of reproduction, metabolism, immune systems, DNA, or the whole human and animal body in general, then this is the class for you. I learned every single detail about the human and animal body. If you think the water cycle is hard, there is way more to it believe me. The class was challenging in ways where you had to memorize different systems and processes. I never thought photosynthesis was so in-depth until I did this course. Labs were always fun especially the electrophoresis labs because who doesn't like separating macromolecules based on size, especially DNA and RNA strands. Learning about genes and heredity was also a huge highlight. Overall, I got to know more about myself.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to take any AP class, the key is too stay focused and maintain good study habits. Specifically for AP Biology, you will need to make time to study and review every single key concept. Create study groups. Study groups always helped because everyone learns differently and you get to consider others perspectives. Buy/ borrow an AP Biology exam book, trust me everything you need to know are in those books, however, don't just rely on them. No cramming! I repeat no cramming and trying to stuff information last minute it will not help in anyway, if anything it will just give you a huge headache. Don't stress out, don't procrastinate either. Not everyone is going to be a biology genius and hey that's okay, it's a college class for a reason. Just try your hardest and you'll eventually get it. Always ask questions and if you need extra help go to tutoring or watch YouTube videos, they really help. Don't panic and stay calm just make sure AP Biology is a priority in your life because it is life.
