This class was tough.
Course Overview:
The subject itself is very intuitive. It is the first math class in which the applications of mathematics is introduced in real life situations. It is also very important for most majors in the STEM field. Also, Ms. Walker is very devoted to success. Not only is the material covered, but little hints and tricks to strategies are taught.
Course highlights:
The highlight of this course is the participation of many students in the learning process. This does not limit the knowledge to a teacher-student connection. This allowed for multiple points of view in learning.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Do not procrastinate. Calculus is not an easy subject and studying will be required. Also be neat because it will help you out. However, taking Calculus will give an advantage over other students in many sectors.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
The teacher does not teach the class. She just assigns overwhelming amounts of assignments.
Course highlights:
I learned not to take a class with a teacher who does not teach.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Study! Do exactly what she asks for.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
The AP test is pretty tough. Be sure to put some study time outside of class. The teacher will put a lot of time outside of the class so use it wisely. She gave us extra credit for after school time that I spent with her so that is another plus for you if she still does it. Make sure to do all your work without copying each others. You cannot complain about the teacher if you don't put effort in your own work first. It is advisable to read ahead and see if you can learn it through videos online because class time is limited and college students use this technique to ask questions in class. Make sure to be organized in your notebook or flashcards because the stuff you learn in first semester will be gone by the time you take the test.
Course highlights:
I think the highlight was that you get to review a lot of the stuff you learn in Algebra and Geometry. I feel that I got better at mental math too because the test is timed.
Hours per week:
12+ hours
Advice for students:
Be neat as possible and practice showing all your work. The teacher wants to know how you got to the answer, not too much on the answer itself. Take your Algebra and Geometry classes seriously. You will need a lot of the stuff from those classes.
